Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to store my Websites at Altuit?
Altuit does provide web hosting services through our Professional ASP product, but you may choose to use your existing web hosting service, or host on your internal corporate webserver if you are using Hemingway Enterprise. All that is necessary to host sites built with Hemingway is a webserver supporting FTP, or a webserver with Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions. This means Hemingway built websites are compatible with almost all current webservers and hosting services.
Is there a trial version?
Yes. You can download a 15-day free trial of Hemingway with full functionality.

NEWSFLASH! Custom Style templates will soon be able to be uploaded by users! Currently in development, the new custom templates feature will allow users to upload their own templates, so virtually any style can be created! Stay tuned!
Can I have Altuit host my domain?
Yes, for an added fee of $36 per year. If you don't already own a domain name, you can purchase one at Register.com.
Does Hemingway support workflow?
Hemingway does not support workflow as it is thought of in the traditional sense. But Hemingway definitely supports controlled edits and updates (as described below) which could be considered "workflow like".
Quick background: Market research indicates that CMS customers frequently ask for workflow but rarely implement it. Part of the reason workflow becomes important to other enterprise CMS products is because the process required to go from content creation to updating the website tends to be very complicated and has many steps requiring the participation of many different skill sets along the way. Hemingway eliminates those obstacles.
Hemingway dramatically simplifies the process to edit and update a website and eliminates the need for the traditional rigid workflow process. Hemingway makes it easy to set up a staging web (it is as simple as hitting the "copy web" button) to be used as a review point for new content. It is also easy to point specific individuals, at specific portions of the website, and limit them to specific actions that they can perform by using our ItemWizards. Likewise, edits to specific portions of a website can automatically generate e-mails to designated individuals who can review the changes prior to committing them to the production site. At even a finer level, actions within ItemWizards can also be configured to send an e-mail notification when an edit is performed. Lastly, it is easy to attach a Comments area next to each Item within a staging web so that reviewers can easily post their approval or feedback on specific Items prior to publishing to the production website.
