About Share Manager

About Share Manager There are three types of users who can edit content in Hemingway.
1.Authors
2.Share Authors
3.ItemWizard Users

If you are an Author, your webs are listed in the My Webs tab. Webs other Authors have chosen to share with you are listed in the Shared Webs tab. You can choose to share either webs or sections of webs with other Authors and Share Authors. This is accomplished by using the Share Manager plugin.

Using Share Manager When you first launch Share Manger, you will see a screen divided into a left and right pane. The left pane is a list of the webs you are able to share (the My Webs list). The right pane shows all shared users for whatever web is selected on the left pane.

As mentioned, you can choose to either share a web, or share a section in a web. First, navigate to the web/section you wish to share. The left pane has two columns: "Web Shared" and "Section Shared." The Web Shared will be marked "True" if a web or a section of a web is shared. The Section Shared will be marked "True" only if the section is shared. In this way, it is easy to navigate to an existing shared user.

You can add a shared user by first selecting the web or section you wish to share, then clicking the "New" button. You will be prompted for a username (usually the Email address) of an existing user. Note: if you enter an email address of a user which is not a Hemingway user, they will not get access to the shared web. You will then be asked if you wish the new user to have build permissions on this web. You can answer Yes or No. Now your web (or section) is shared with another user.

Changing settings for a user You can change build permissions for an individual user by clicking the username and then checking or unchecking the "User has permission to Build Web" checkbox.

You can delete a user by selecting the user and pressing the "Del" button.
