What is ItemWizard?
QuickStart Tutorial
What is ItemWizard?

Simply put, ItemWizards make it SIMPLE. ItemWizards allow any user you designate to add content to a Hemingway web using a step-by-step Wizard with instructions. Users don't have to be registered Hemingway authors. The wizard displays the options for the submitter in a simple fashion.

In order for anyone to use ItemWizard, they will need to download the ItemWizard application. Currently, it only runs on Windows PCs.

You, as an author, can designate as many individuals as you like to add, replace or delete specific areas of websites on an item-by-item basis. As the author, you also control how the information is added along with detailed instructions.
There are four components to ItemWizard The first is the ItemWizard application, which is launched when someone clicks on an ItemWizard link from a web page.

The second is the MagicItem file, which is downloaded from the link. It launches the ItemWizard application and gives it instructions about what Item to create, edit or delete. Think of it as a 'recipe' for creating, replacing or deleting new items. It is a very small file, typically under 3K.

The third is the ItemWizard plugin, which works with HemPC to create html scripts. When a web is built with these scripts, they automatically generate MagicItem files when clicked on.

The fourth are ItemWizard Actions, which are "MagicItem templates" and are the building blocks of ItemWizard scripts. The ItemWizard plugin uses these Actions to generate the html scripts.
