For each Web, Section and Item, there are various values and data you can set. Some of the settings are in tabbed groups which you can navigate to to see the results.

You access the settings by either double-clicking on a Web, Section or Item, or clicking the respective edit button in the blue task area.
About Web Settings The Web Settings are comprised of three tabs: Web Settings 1, Web Settings 2, Web Settings 3. All Web Settings Tabs have a Style Map button which displays how the settings affect the layout of the associated template. Also, information buttons help describe the functionality of each control.
Web Settings 1 Tab This tab has the following controls:

Web Name
The Web Name is used when referencing the Web from a URL and as such should be short. It is also used in place of the Logo Image if no Logo Image is available or turned off. If the checkbox is off then Home will be substituted instead of the WebName in the Table of Contents.
Example: ABC Project

Web Headline
The Web Headline is usually longer than the Web Name and is usually displayed prominently in the website home page. If the checkbox is off then the Web Title will not be visible on the website.
Example: The Project Website for ABC Company.

Web Description
The Web Description is a paragraph or two about the website and is usually displayed on the home page. If the checkbox is off then the Web Description  will not be visible on the website.
The 'T' button launches the HTML Builder plugin for editing and creating formatted text. More information on the HTML Builder Plugin can be found in the Plugin section of this document.

The 'Picture Frame' button launches the ImageGadget plugin for creating images. More information on the ImageGadget Plugin can be found in the Plugin section of this document.

Web Logo Image
The Logo Image is a GIF or JPG file which can be uploaded to the website. It is generally smaller and takes the place of the Web Name in most website styles.  If the checkbox is off then the Logo Image will not be visible on the website and will be replaced by the Web Name unless it too is turned off. Double-click on the filename to create a relative link to a logo image already located on the Hemingway server. This is helpful if you wish to have a number of webs use the same logo image.

Web Main Image
TheWeb Main Image is a GIF or JPG file which can be uploaded to the website. It is the main picture on the home page of the website.  If the checkbox is off then the Web Main Image will not be visible on the website. Double-click on the filename to create a relative link to a main image already located on the Hemingway server. This is helpful if you wish to have a number of webs use the same main image.
Web Settings 2 Tab This tab has the following controls:

Author Name
The Author Name is used to communicate the author and/or contact person for the website. If the checkbox is off then the Author Name will not be visible on the website.

Contact Email Address
The Contact Email is used as a link to an email address of the person to contact from a website. A valid Email address should be used. If the Author Name is checked, then the email link will use the Author Name, else it will use the address specified.  If the checkbox is off then the email link will not be visible on the website.
Example: yourname@hotmail.com

Email on Change List
The Email on Change List is a list of email addresses to be contacted each time the website is updated. If the checkbox is off then no emails will be sent. The email list should be valid email addresses separated by commas. Spaces will be ignored. Up to 30 Emails will be sent out only once in a 24 hour period, no matter how many times the web has changed.
Example:    bob@hotmail.com, fred@hotmail.com, jack@hotmail.com

Header HTML
(available only on certain templates)

Some templates support HTML in the header. If so, then the HTML placed in this field will be shown in the header of each page. This field is also used when automating the joining of webs with the Web Stitcher plugin.

This Web is a SubWeb of another
If this Web is a SubWeb of another web, then check this box. If you're not sure then leave the box unchecked. If this web is a SubWeb, then the home page for this web will NOT BE SEEN, and instead the Master Web URL will be accessed when clicking on the 'Home' button.

If it is a Subweb, then please fill out the fields:

Master Web URL:

This is the link to the page which will appear instead of the 'homepage' of this web.
Example: http://www.altuit.com/default.htm

Or a relative link:

../MyWebHome/default.htm

Master Web Name:

This is the name which will appear in the 'Home Page' link. You may use the name 'Home' or make your own.
Example: Home
Web Settings 3 Tab This tab has the following controls:

Restricted Access Web
When the Restricted Access box is checked, the website can only be access by those in the User List. The User List is formatted in Username , Password pairs separated by a return. Spaces will be ignored.
Example:
                         Fred , 1HKJ89
                         Judy , skippy
                         Sally , 12356


WebHits
All Altuit Templates record the number of page accesses. Most custom templates do not. If you are using an Altuit template, the number of page accesses is recorded here. Pressing the Reset button changes the number to zero.
About Section Settings The Section Settings are comprised of a single Section Settings tab. Section Settings has a Style Map button which displays how the settings affect the layout of the associated template. Also, information buttons help describe the functionality of each control.
Section Settings Tab This tab has the following controls:

Section Name
The Section Name is used for linking to the various items within the section.  A Section Name and Description are available to ALL of your Websites, not just the one you are currently working on.

Section Description
The Section Description is a paragraph or two about the section and is usually displayed on the same page as the section. If the checkbox is off then the description  will not be visible on the website.

Section Links to URL
Typically Sections are automatically linked to relative Items so you can leave the field above blank and the checkbox off (the default values). In the case where you want a Section Title to link to a remote web page (as in another web), click the checkbox and fill in the URL above with the address of the remote web page. TIP: This is a great way to embed web sites within other websites!
About Item Settings The Item Settings are comprised of three tabs: Item Text, Item Image, Item Links. Item Text Tab This tab has the following controls:

Item Name
The Item Name is used for linking to the various items within the section. If the checkbox is off then the Item Name will not be visible on the website. Every Item must have a Name!

Item Description Text
The Item Description is a paragraph or two about the Item and is usually displayed on the same page as the Item. If the checkbox is off then the description  will not be visible on the website.

Item Description Text can also contain HTML for Forms, Flash documents, Javascript, etc.. Be sure and check the Use HTML box below if you intend to use this feature.

Use HTML
Leave this box unchecked unless you use HTML in the Description above

The Form button launches the Form plugin for editing and creating forms. More information on the Form Plugin can be found in the Plugin section of this document.

The Comments button launches the Comments plugin for editing and creating a mini message board. More information on the Comments Plugin can be found in the Plugin section of this document.

The Search button launches the Search plugin for editing and creating web search forms. More information on the Search Plugin can be found in the Plugin section of this document.

The Custom Builder Controls menu is reserved for custom plugins.
Item Image Tab This tab has the following controls:

Show Image
Check this box to enable the display of the image on the web page. The Image box shows the current Image for for this item. You may doubleclick on it to view the image at full scale. Click the Browse Button to Load a new Image from your Computer to this Item. The Image must be JPG or GIF and should be no bigger than 400K in size.

Checking the Special Image Properties allows you to manually assign an image to this item, or to auto assign an image based upon an uploaded filetype. This is useful for document management purposes.

Image Size and Image Effect
Image Size and Image Effects only work with JPG Images and only when uploading a new image.

Image Sizing scales the image proportionally so it will be a specified number of pixels wide.

Small = 60 pixels wide
Medium = 120 pixels wide
Large = 240 pixels wide
X-Large = 320 pixels wide

You can use Image Sizing to create a 'Thumbnail' image of a larger image. You can link to the larger image by choosing the Link to Picture on the Item Links tab. In this case, it will keep a copy of the larger image.

The ImageGadget button launches the ImageGadget plugin for editing and creating images. More information on the ImageGadget Plugin can be found in the Plugin section of this document.
Item Links Tab This tab has the following controls:

Show Link
Check this box if you wish to enable the link properties for this Item

URL
Use http:// if you wish to link to a page on the web.
Use mailto: to link to a known Email Address.

URL: (ex. http://www.somewhere.com/wherever.htm)

Open Link in New Window when checked will launch a new window instead of opening up the URL in the same window. Useful for offsite destinations.

Full Size Item Picture
You need to have an image ready for upload and have selected an image size from the Item Image tab in order to use this feature. The image you choose will be uploaded to the server, then made smaller (Small, Medium, Large, X-Large). The small image will appear on the page and when clicked will display a larger image.

File
Click the Browse button on the right to upload a new file. Files cannot exceed 5Mb.

Files to be uploaded cannot have the following extensions:

.asp
.exe
.com
.vbs
.pif
.ass

Link is Accessed by:
This button is disabled if you have checked the Special Image Properties button on the Item Image tab.
You may not select the Image is the Button option unless you have first selected an image to upload.
There are a number of different ways you can access links.

Use More Info Button or Link Button for different button styles coordinated with the Web Style you choose.

Use Image is the Button to make the Item Image the button.

Use Use Text instead of Button to have only a Textual link as the button. The Textual link is defined by the Text you enter in the Button Text field.
