Menus
There are 3 menus atop the Main screen.
The first is the File menu and it has only one item: Quit. You can choose this menu item or click the close window 'X' at the top right of the Main screen to quit the application.
The next menu named "Edit" holds the "Cut,Copy,Paste and Select All" menu items.
The last menu named "Go" provides the "Logoff" menu item. Select this when you wish to logoff your current session and go back to the Login screen.
Toolbars
Refresh - refreshes the My Webs or Shared Webs list
Stop - interrupts posting of data to the Server and resets the internet connection settings
View Web - launches a browser window with the home URL of the web selected. (Note: if the window does not come to front, it is because it has been already launched with this button previously)
Build Web - sends the command to the Hemingway server to build the selected web. If this button is red then there have been changes made to the content, but they have yet to be posted to the website. If this button is gray, then no changes have been made, so it is not necessary to build the web. Note: You can make as many changes to a web as you like without pressing the Build Web button. All changes are stored on the server. Changes will ALL be reflected in the web the NEXT time you press the Build Web button. You can even make changes on a Friday on your computer at home using HemPC and then Build the Web on Monday from a browser at your office.
Access - this button allows you to quickly toggle the Restricted Access settings for you web. It is the same as editing web settings and clicking the Restricted Access Web checkbox.
File Manager- this button launches the File Manager Plugin. More information on the File Manager Plugin can be found in the Plugin section of this document.
Web Stitcher - this button launches the Web Stitcher Plugin. More information on the Web Stitcher Plugin can be found in the Plugin section of this document.
HTMLtoPDF- this button launches the HTMLtoPDF Plugin. More information on the HTMLtoPDF Plugin can be found in the Plugin section of this document.
The Three Action Areas
You will create and edit your Hemingway webs using the Three Action Areas (from left to right): Task Area (blue), Web/Section/Item Tree List Area, and the Settings Area.
Here's how it works. You select the Web, Section or Item you wish to modify, then you can choose from the blue Task Area the operation you wish to perform. If you choose to create or edit a Web, Section or Item, its properties will be displayed in the Settings Area for you to modify and submit. We'll review each Area in the Next Sections.
