Task Area

Task Area is the blue Area on the left.

The Task Area changes based upon whether you've selected a Web, Section or Item in the Tree List Area. It also will change based upon whether you are an Author or Shared User and the relative permissions granted to you as a Shared User.

At the top of the Task Area is the Editing pane which tells you the Web, Section and/or Item you have currently selected in the Tree List Area.
Web Tasks If you have selected a Web in the Tree List Area you will see the following options: (some options may be disabled if you are a Shared User)

Other Tasks pane:
Create New Web - Opens the Web Settings Area where you can fill in settings for the new Web. The new Web will not be created unless you press the Submit button. More information on Web Settings can be found in the Web Settings section of this document.

Add New Section to Web - Opens up the Section Settings Area where you can fill in settings for a new Section to add to the designated Web. The new Section will not be created unless you press the Submit button. More information on Section Settings can be found in the Section Settings section of this document.

Web Tasks pane:
Edit Web Settings - Opens the Web Settings Area for the selected Web where you can edit its settings. Changes will not be applied unless you press the Submit button. More information on Web Settings can be found in the Web Settings section of this document.

Edit Web Style - Opens the Web Style Settings Area where you can change the template used to render your web. Changes will not be applied unless you press the Submit button. More information on Web Style Settings can be found in the Web Style Settings section of this document.

Delete Web - Deletes the currently selected Web and all included Sections and Items. This operation is not undoable!

Copy Web - Prompts the User for a new Web name, then duplicates the currently selected Web and refreshes the Tree List Area.
Section Tasks If you have selected a Section in the Tree List Area you will see the following options: (some options may be disabled if you are a Shared User)

Other Tasks pane:
Create New Web - Opens the Web Settings Area where you can fill in settings for the new Web. The new Web will not be created unless you press the Submit button. More information on Web Settings can be found in the Web Settings section of this document.

Add New Section to Web - Opens up the Section Settings Area where you can fill in settings for a new Section to add to the designated Web. The new Section will not be created unless you press the Submit button. More information on Section Settings can be found in the Section Settings section of this document.

Add New Item to Section - Opens up the Item Settings Area where you can fill in settings for a new Item to add to the designated Section. The new Item will not be created unless you press the Submit button. More information on Item Settings can be found in the Item Settings section of this document.

Section Tasks pane:
Edit Section - Opens the Section Settings Area for the selected Section where you can edit its settings. Changes will not be applied unless you press the Submit button. More information on Section Settings can be found in the Section Settings section of this document.

Delete Section - Deletes the currently selected Section and all included Items. This operation is not undoable!

Copy Section - Prompts the User for a Web to copy the selected Section to. Then copies the Section including all Items to the designated Web.

Move Section to Top - Moves the selected Section to the top of the list of Sections for its Web.

Move Section Up - Moves the selected Section up one step of the list of Sections for its Web.

Move Section Down  - Moves the selected Section down one step of the list of Sections for its Web.

Move Section to Bottom - Moves the selected Section to the bottom of the list of Sections for its Web.
Item Tasks If you have selected an Item in the Tree List Area you will see the following options: (some options may be disabled if you are a Shared User)

Add New Item to Section - Opens up the Item Settings Area where you can fill in settings for a new Item to add to the designated Section. Item Tasks pane:
Edit Item - Opens the Item Settings Area for the selected Item where you can edit its settings. Changes will not be applied unless you press the Submit button. More information on Item Settings can be found in the Item Settings section of this document.

Tip: You can expedite editing existing Items by holding down the shift key when you edit an item. In this case, the image for the item will not be downloaded, but will act as if it has.

Delete Item - Deletes the currently selected Item. This operation is not undoable!

Copy Item - Prompts the User for a Section to copy the selected Item to. Then copies the Item to the designated Section.

Tip: Hold down the shift key when you copy an Item and the Item you copied will stay selected so you can copy it again (but the Section will not be refreshed).

Move Item to Top - Moves the selected Item to the top of the list of Items for its Section.

Move Item Up - Moves the selected Item up one step of the list of Items for its Section.

Move Item Down  - Moves the selected Item down one step of the list of Items for its Section.

Move Item to Bottom - Moves the selected Item to the bottom of the list of Items for its Section.
