Setting up HemPC on your computer

Hemingway is a web application. This means all your data is stored on the Hemingway server. Much of the programming 'business logic' is also on the Hemingway server. In fact, just like other web applications, most all Hemingway's features can be accessed directly from a web browser. Unfortunately, web browsers make for poor application interfaces. This is why we've developed HemPC which interfaces directly with the Hemingway server. Even though HemPC is a desktop application, it doesn't store any of your data on your computer, but rather stores it all on the server. This way, you can access your data from any computer in any place, as long as you have an internet connection.
Installing HemPC You'll want to download HemPC for either MacOSX or WinXP from the Altuit website. If you don't already have an account, you can register for one at the Altuit website. Your password will be sent to you in an email and you can begin right away! On the PC, you'll download a HemPC_setup.exe file which you can use to install HemPC. On the Mac a HemPC_setup.dmg file is downloaded. You can mount this file by double-clicking, then drag HemPC to your Applications folder, or wherever you like.
